Evaluations
A comprehensive evaluation is provided to determine the current communication skills of the client. An evaluation generally consists of obtaining a case history, observation of the child, parental interview,and the administration of standardized tests. Following the evaluation, a preliminary verbal report regarding initial impressions and findings can be provided to the family. A complete written report containing standardized test scores, interpretation of results, diagnoses, and recommendations will be provided. A treatment plan containing goals and objectives is developed.
Therapy
This practice offers treatment for:
- Articulation delays and disorders
- Phonological process disorders
- Childhood apraxia of speech
- Receptive and expressive language disorders
- Stuttering
- Voice disorders
Therapy for young children is generally provided in a play format. Activities such as crafts, books, cooking, games, puzzles, and toys are used to provide a framework from which to elicit opportunities to practice target sounds or language structures, vocal behavior, fluency, etc.
Consultation
Additional consultation to the child’s school or other family members can be arranged. This helps to provide comprehensive services for maximum carryover to non-therapy settings.
